Drysuit

People sometimes ask me if I wear a wetsuit when I’m skating. The answer, of course, is that no skater in their right mind would ever wear a wetsuit. Instead, the more adventurous among us wear drysuits. Unlike a wetsuit, a drysuit has waterproof feet, and the neck and wrist openings are watertight as well. You can be immersed in water up to your neck and not a drop of water will get inside the suit.
Drysuits aren’t cheap. But for skaters who have them, they’re worth every penny. No need to worry about getting soaked, having to strip naked in the freezing cold, and having to wrestle your wet skin into dry clothes.
Among the skaters I know, the #1 brand of drysuit is Kokatat. Here are photos of an entry-level Kokatat drysuit.
